Need help on how to find out about an adoption that may have taken place in early 1930's Tennessee. My grandfather was born in 1927 and died in 1957. I knew his name to be Charles "Gordon" Justice. His adopted parents were Claude R. Justice and Ethel (Hughett) Justice. Ethel Hughett's parents were Jasper Hughett and Ettie Pemberton. The Hughett family was a well known family in Scott County Tennessee. I find Claude and Ethel in the 1930 Scott County Tennessee Census without son Charles so I am to assume the adoption took place after 1930. Unfortunatley I have no other info or living family to ask, Can anyone Help??
