This was the section that later became Calhoun and St. Clair Counties, Ala. By the early 1820's this family had migrated to Perry County, Ala.

Absalom AUTREY, married Elizabeth NORRIS in 1826 by Enoch Hays, Minister of the Gospel in Perry Co. Ala. They had 15 chilren born between 1827 and 1850, twelve children provided their parents with 107 grandchildren.

Children: Sara E., John Mabe, Lucinda, Harriet, Elizabeth Jane, William Norris, Cornelius, James Jackson, Celia J., Robert Martin (our great-grandfather), Syria, Martha Ann, Thomas Jefferson, Bird Griffin and Charlie Henry Autrey, the last child and the only one born in Lincoln Parish, La. in the home Absalom built there in 1848, having left with many family members from Ala. in 1847.

If you are connected to any of these lines, please contact me, will share information. I have begun a life-long journey to find all our cousins and other descendants from this family. I would like to update the family information from the book, "Absalom and Elizabeth Autrey and Their Descendant's With A Section on Thomas Norris" by Jeanne Murphy and myself.
