I recently received my GGGrandmother's Petition for Naturalization. On it, her birthplace is listed as "Buckin, Yugoslavia" in 1886 and her daughter's birthplace is listed as "Racinvovic, Yugoslavia" in 1914.

I have not yet been able to locate these cities (or anything that seems like it could be them). I understand that the city names are not spelled correctly and I am guessing that the names are spelled out based on how they sounded. However, I can't seem to find anything.

My family was German, but lived mostly in the Syrmien region of Croatia (then part of Yugoslavia). Can anyone recommend sources that might help me to locate possible cities so that I can find the real names?
