I have a "tintype" of the house built by my ancestor. Preserve Smith, who came to Knox Co, in 1831. His farm was called "Five Corners Farm" and it was sold out of the family in the 1880's. I am named after Cynthia Amelia Smith, one of the daughters of Preserve Smith and Amelia Knowles Smith. Cynthia married Francis Shannon Rowley.
I also have the Smith family album. Some photos are labeled, but many are not.
I am attaching a JPEG of the tintype. I'd like to get some advice on dating it--I wonder if the wagon in the foreground would give any clue as to the date?
Thanks,
Cindy Kennedy
