Hello,
Upon researching my wives family from Nyborg,Denmark, starting with her G Grandmother in the USA and knowing her parents names from found passenger lists and census records, family name Rademacher.
I then went to the web page,
http://www.ddd.dda.dk/ddd_en.htmand found the family in the census transcripts listed,
then found them in previous census through the years as a child, listing their parents, continuing the process,I was able to find this family back 3/4 generations to 1801.
I spent about 2 weeks checking each county and variations of names, and found the family in Nyborg since the beginning
I found the only Rademacher's through the census's in Nyborg seemed to be all one family. Then confirming the birth years all matched correctly, through the census's.
Also having to translate Danish to insure the relationships and occupations listed all worked out.
Everything fit together nicely.
I then found all names/dates,places through the generations listed at Familysearch.org and found the parish, church baptistm, marriage records listing same names,Birth year, parents names as reflected in the census I found.
This is all very amazing to me,I have been doing genealogy for 30 years, worked on many family trees through Acom
and never have seen US census info be so consistent through the years as these census from Denmark were.
I was wondering if this is typical of Denmark genealogies
Everything I found for 3/4 generations all fit so well,
I am a bit skeptical,
Is it possible to view the original records,
I tried the link at:
http://www.sa.dk/ao/but it appears to be broke.
Any comments, thoughts or opinions on all this is appreciated
Thank you,
Brian
