This photograph is one of 4 which have been inserted inside a large family bible, printed in Sydney. I believe the bible belonged to Ada Australia Thorne (nee Rundle). Ths photograph may be of her, perhap aged 6, dating the photograph to approx. 1866.

The photograph could have been taken from one of the houses on Elizabeth Bay. I would like to think it was taken at "Pomeroy", Macleay Street (the Rundle residence), but I don't think it was built at that time.
