THE FREMONT COUNTY HERALD. Sidney, Iowa. May 12, 1921. "From J. F. Lewis".--There comes to our desk a neat little booklet advertising the merits of Carter County, Montana, illustrated profusely with photographs of various points of interest in and around Ekalaka, county seat of said county.

John Franklin Lewis, who was at one time connected with the Herald in an editorial capacity, emigrated to this county a few years ago and for some time has been connected with Eagle Publishing company at Ekalaka. The booklet has the following to say about J. F.:

"The publishers and compilers of this booklet Ekalaka and Carter county are indebted to J. F. Lewis for the excellent photographs reproduced herein and likewise for some of the descriptive and historical articles. Aside from his photographic ability, Mr. Lewis is a brilliant writer, many of his articles appearing in the leading magazines and newpapers of the country. He has been connected with the Eagle Publishing company for the past two years in the capacity of city editor and he never misses an opportunity to boost for this section, which he knows he can conscientiously do because of the fact that he had lived in many of the middle western states before locating in Montana. Here in Ekalaka, we give John Lewis the big end of credit for placing Ekalaka and Carter county before the eyes of the people elsewhere."
