Surnames: BEUGE, BUEGE, BOIE
I am searching for the German surname BEUGE or BUEGE.
German pronounciation is BOY and name was changed to BOIE in America - also pronounced BOY.
GrGrandfather, Joachim Beuge and wife Sophia(Voelker) Beuge,
both born in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, came to DuPage, Illinois in 1873. In 1875 the family moved to Hawkeye, Fayette County, Iowa, and farmed.
Changed the spelling of their surname Beuge to Boie in 1881
or so.
Joachim and Sophia Beuge were married in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany and had sons, John Henry Beuge - b: 09-JUN-1863, Frederick Beuge -b: 18-FEB-1869 in Germany. dau -Johanna b: ??? and others, unknown at this time.
Any information on the Beuge name or this family would be greatfully received and appreciated. JBOIE
