I have read and googled and...am still left wondering.

My ancestors lived in Co Sligo and survived the famine. For this I am thankful. But in the mid 1860's they leave to come to America. Why? What happened? A mother and father, several children and his mother. No stories passed down - I am left to only my imagination...

Any suggestions to find some truth? Even if it is not good...
