Hello,

I obtained a marriage certificate for my partners great grandparents. from Riga, Latvia. Translated below:

No entry. 5132 Riga Registry Office 1940th On the marriage register shows that Vladislav Francis d. Ļubovskis, was born in the 1919th On the first May in Leningrad, unmarried, a Pole, a Catholic faith-the Soviet Latvian citizen, 2. class machinist Riga wagon factory, lived in Riga, 166 Liberty Street up. 1b. Irmgard Rudolph and Ida m. Stoeckel, was born in the 1921st On the 20th March in Riga, unmarried, German, Latvian SSR citizen, housewife, lived in Riga, Mill Street 12 up. The 11th That marriage dissolved the 1942nd On the 21st For the Riga Regional Court.

Please note for Vladislav is says he was born in Leningrad in 1919. Ive researched a little and found that Leningrad was only named Leningrad from 1924. before then was Petrograd and before ww1 was St. Petersburg, Russia.

However the document above also stastes he was a Pole. Meaning be was born in Poland? and Irmgrade it says she is German but was born in Riga, Latvia. (I have her birth record and she was born in Riga)

Why does it say he is a Pole and she is German??

Can anyone help me with finding out exactly where was he born? Also if you really want to help, how i can find out what happened to him after the marriage dissolved.

Any information wound be greatly appreciated.

Thank-you
