The tombstone of Patrick O'Keef (1784-1864) in McHenry, IL, findagrave #130082978, says he was born in "Kare, Co. Tiperary, Ireland". I can't find Kare on google maps.

I suspect that Kare is an older spelling for either Cahir or Carrick-on-Sur. Does anyone know where Kare is?

BTW, I believe he is Patrick Keith in the 1850 census of Brooklyn (later Nunda) township, McHenry Co. Several of his children were possibly born in Ballyhale/Knockwilliam, Co. Kilkenny and died near Decorah, Winneshiek, IA. Patrick's wife was possibly Joan or Judith Aylward.
