Researching any information on a marriage of a Jimmy Carter to Mary Ellen Brothers Smith (maiden name Brothers, 1st marriage to a Smith) between ca 1972- ca 1975. Jimmy was a truck driver I have been told. The couple lived in the Gadsden area around Walnut Grove Park.

I believe this was a very short marriage, and may have even been anulled. The woman was my mother (who had 3 young girls by that time) and I have no memory of this marriage. My mother and her family has never mentioned the marriage and other genealogical accounts do not include it either. Any info, especially dates, would be appreciated.
