Emmitt A. Underwood died at the Rosary Hospital, Campbellsville, Friday, April 8th, from injuries received when a team of horses he was working ran away with him on his farm near Bloyd. Funeral services were conducted by Reverend D. L. Druien at 2:00 p.m., April 10th at the Brush Creek Baptist Church and interment was in the Perkins cemetery. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Underwood, he was born in Green County November 28, 1884. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and united with the Brush Creek Baptist Church where he remained a member until death. He was united in marriage to Miss Nannie Betty Price and to this union seven children were born. He is survived by his wife and the following children, Mrs. Mayme Thompson, Mrs. Orilla Ireland, Raymond Underwood, Louisville, and Floyd Underwood, William Underwood, and Hulett Underwood all of Green County; also two brothers, Will Underwood, of Iowa, Clay Underwood, of Larue County, and grandchildren. Pallbearers were Frank Foster, Jim Robert Perkins, Claude Shoffner, Louis Shoffner, Edward Shoffner, and Loyd Ward, Flower girls were Elsie Warren, Lucille Thompson, Ruby Simpson, Francis H.—Debra Jean Milby, Blanche Thompson, Geneva Milby and --
