I'm searching for a man named John KNOTT. He is the father of my great-grandmother, Ada Mary RINGROSE (nee GROCOTT).

My g-gma was born in 1914, to Edith GROCOTT and John Knott.

John Knott was married to another woman at the time of my g-gmas birth. His wife could not have children and wanted to raise my g-gma as her own. John and his wife may have had money, as they also offered to look after Edith. Edith said no, married a New Zealand man named George Edward WILLIAMS and raised my g-gma as Ada Mary WILLIAMS.

I cannot find any record of John Knott in New Zealand.

I do not know if John Knott is his full name or not.

I have found a record in the 1911 England Census which may be him. He has a wife named Ada but no children (it says nine but I think this is an error because they have only been married one year). SEE ATTACHMENT.

If you have any advice or could help me out, that would be fantastic. I'm dying to track down this man.
