This is my first use of the computer and genealogy sites to search for the American origins of my most obscure last name. I hope I'm doing this right. I'm open to suggestions.

I have a photograph of my Grandfather, Harry Arthur Foothorap taken at age 10 yrs. in about 1883 by "Hoyer Photographer" at Cor. Pike and Madison Sts. in Covington Ky, which I believe is in Kenton County. His father's name was Fred.

I also have an undated newspaper clipping about a Fred "Foothorf" of 60 E. Ninth St. in Covington who suffered an apparently fatal fall from a painter's scaffold on Madison between 5th&6th. The name may have been misspelled. On the back side of the clipping are two murder stories. It's dated Aug 6 (no year) about the capture of Ali Salman in the death of Mahmood Hamzy and a coroner's report that a Mrs. Krauss poisoned her stepdaughter.

Any help in finding further information about Harry Foothorap or Fred would be appreciated. Thank you.
