Lee W. Spencer was born in Wilken Co., MN in 1893, Roberts Twp. His father was Arthur John Spencer from Fulton Co., Ohio and his mother was Helen Hackett. The family moved to Montana in 1906 and homestaded near Fromberg. Arthur`s mother Mary Roxie (Amsbaugh)Spencer lived with the family. She died March 3, 1915, and is buried at Rockdale, MT.. Lee joined the army in WW1 and upon his return lived in Silver Bow and is in the census there with his wife Charlottie. He is mentioned in his father`s will in 1932 living in Oakland, California. I have a photo of `Cuz` Lee with chaps and a sixgun in a comic photo with my grandfather Charles E. Spencer and that was the last we knew of Lee until we learned he was buried at Golden Gate National Cemetery at San Bruno, California, Plot L, Block 5678. Lee died august 11, 1942. There was I believe a daughter also named Charlotte born to the family. Thanks for your contribution, Lee.
