I'm looking for ancestral information regarding the Traugott side of my family. I know my great grandfather's name was Jacob Traugott and he was reportedly from Prussia. He emmigrated to the US via New Orleans around 1860 and then to Chicago and finally to Indianapolis. At another site I found a reference to a Jacob Traugott marriage record in what was then known as Galacia, just below Poland.

Any information further back would certainly be appreciated. Thanks.
