Funeral services for Lawrence D. Hatfield, 47, who lived on Patrick Creek near Wayne, and who died Friday evening, Dec. 21, while driving to a doctor's office were held Monday at 11 A.M. in the Echo Baptist Church. Interment followed in Patrick Cemetery. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Macil Hatfield; three daughters, Jean Hatfield of South Charleston, Joyce Anne and Edna Mae Hatfield, at home; four sons, Robert, Jack, Billy and Jimmy Hatfield, all at home; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hatfield of Dingess, W.Va.; a sister, Mrs. Vella Adkins of Verdunville, W.Va.; and four brothers, Willy Hatfield of Ashland, Ky., D.B. Hatfield of Princeton, W.Va., Tony Hatfield of Verdunville, and Morrow Hatfield with the U.S. Army in Japan. The body was removed from the Rollins Funeral home to the residence. Mr. Hatfield was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Bennie F. White of this city.
