Marriage records in Albany

With a little luck I plan on going to the Albany Hall of Records - I always have a running list of things to look for
The records in the very early 1880's are very sparse...and difficult to read. The next time I go I'll see if I can locate anything for you. Another record to search would be dates for immigration. Hall of records also holds information on propertie etc.
Albany city hall has records of birth and death but it is about $11. for an abstract. Ten years ago you could hhave get copy of the original. Now everything is digitilized and I don't think they give you all the information.
Well over 20 years ago i copied all cemetery cards for family that I knew of. So glad that I did. I think if you can convince them they might give you a "Plot Plan" that identifies all that are buried in that lot.. Sometimes you find total strangers buried. One of my early mulligans was buried in the early section of St. Agnes. When I asked for the plot plan I was surprised to find a totally unrelated family. Often if there was room going to be left they would agree to have other friends buried there. The lot owner would be the person making the decision.
The Diocese has gotten very unfriendly when it comes to information, particularly on birth records.
I know other diocese still will give you information.
