From the Van Wert Times Bulletin, Van Wert, Ohio Middlepoint Items 12 April 1876
Died at the residence of Samuel Roop, on the 20th inst., William Dickey, near eighty years old. Mr. Dickey was respected by all who knew him, and we learn that he was a member of the M.E. Church for about forty years. Mr. Dickey will be missed by us this season, as he has heretofore, for several years past, been supplying our town with wine or pie-plant, delivered to each family in town.

Does anyone know who William Dickey's parents or siblings were? He married Susannah Roop, d/o Fredrick and Elizabeth (Abbott) Roop. Susannah must have died before William, but I have no death date for her. The Samuel Roop mentioned in the obit has to be one of Susannah's nephews because her brother, Samuel, lived in Van Wert Co, OH. Did Wm. & Susannah have any children? And what is pie-plant?
