From his obituary in Alexandria, Minnesota (died Aug. 26, 1926)
Lars Nelson Gylsen was born in Frykande Socken, Värmland, Sweden, Nov. 27, 1854.
He was married October 6, 1878 to Ingeborg Peterson (b. Sept 12, 1853)
Their first child was born in Sweden.
First child: Per John or John Peter? born June 2, 1879 in Värmland.
The father emigrated in about 1880 for Minnesota, and the mother Ingeborg and son Per John or something like that, left a year later.
Is there any more definite information about this couple in Sweden, or the emigration? How did they end up with the name Gylsen - was the spelling of that changed? Most of the time Lars used the name L. N. Gylsen on the Minnesota census records.
Thanks,
Taryn
