I am researching my maternal grandmother's sister, Elizabeth Annie Woodley born 1893 in Ardington Wick, Oxfordshire England. She grew up in Ardington wick and in about 1908 at the age of 14 she worked as a maid for Lady Wantage at Lockinge Estate. I believe that her future husband, William Iliffe born in Crick,was a butler there too. I have tried different sources but have not been able to find a list of employees at Lockinge. On the 1911 census she is working for another family in Moreton on Marsh.
I would love to hear from anyone who is also researching the Woodley family. Her father was Samuel Woodley and her mother Rose Hannah Mulford. Samuel worked the grounds at Lockinge for many years.
