I am looking for more information on Kerseys of Campbell and Charlotte County. I have this documented information from Charlotte County, but need more info. Does anyone know of any Kersey family graveyards, or churches where there may be a lot of Kerseys buried? Here is info collected so far:
Trying to research my great grandmother Clara Jane Kersey.

Here is what I have so far:
Thomas Kersey, born about 1800 married to Unknown
father of
William T. Kersey a widower, who married widow of Rufus B. Perrow , M E. St. John
I have not yet figured out who Williams previous wife was, but I feel sure they had children.

M. E. St. John married Rufus B. Perrow on Sept 14, 1876. She was given as age 23, single, he was given as age 26, single. Her parents were Jacob St. John and S. F. Unknown. M. E. born in Charlotte County, Rufus born in Buckingham County.

M.E. marries William T. Kersey on July 14, 1881, both born in Charlotte Co. residing in Campbell County. He is 50, and she is said to be 26, but I think a little older.

They have 2 documented children,
Clara Jane Kersey married Emmett Gray Johnson
Lelia Kersey married a Davis

William T. Kersey died and M E Marries Widower Charles A. Johnson (age 40) on March 20, 1896
Charles is the Widower of Jenny?
Charles already had a son Emmett Gray Johnson, who marries Clara Jane.
M. E. and Charles Johnson had at least two children
Cora Johnson and Charlie R. Johnson

M. E. had a nickname, Molly, and I believe that M. E. either stood for Mary Elizabeth or Martha Elizabeth, most likely Mary.
Clara Jane was born June 2, 1882 and died Jan 5, 1962. She is buried in Bethel Churchyard, Charlotte County, Va.
Emmett Gray Johnson was born 1876, died 1930, and is buried in old family plot, Rough Creek Va. in the woods.

I thought this info might help some.
Also found a Thomas E. Kersey in Bethel graveyard, born Feb 28, 1868 and died
July 8, of either 1940 or 1948. Dont know where he fits yet. I believe he may be the son of William and 1st wife.

A Thomas Kersey age 24, marries a Hallie Jackson, age 22. Both born in Campbell County, married in Charlotte County. Marriage date 12 19 1894. Her parents W. A. Jackson and Delilah? His father is given as William.

John H. Kersey,USAF, (age 21) son of Thomas and Hallie Kersey marries Fannie Jackson, (age 21) daughter of George Jackson, on May 29, 1919

Jack Kersey age 22 son of Ellen ? marries Carrie Hancock, age 21.on May 26, 1910. She is the daughter of Charles and Lula Hancock

I found a recorded death of a John Kersey of Charlotte County, July 1861, of Typhoid in Richmond Va. age 19, son of Thomas and M. Kersey

Mary R. Kersey, age 23, widow and daughter of Thomas Kersey marries widower Levi Harris, age 57 of Cumberland County. on Nov 9, 1863

E. D. Kersey,son of Ann Kersey of Charlotte County, age 27 marries Eva Smith age 21, daughter of HC and Henrietta Smith on Dec 28th 1904

Female-M. E Kersey (daughter of William and Frances Kersey) marries R. L. Clark, son of Pub and Jane Clark forgot to get date, but sometime between 1904 and 1910

4-10-1910 Andrew Kersey age 22, son of William and Ann Kersey, marries Sallie Creasy age 18, daughter of B. H. and Mary Creasy
