I would appreciate any information on the SONNABEND or SONNABAND names. Hans Peters Sonnabend moved from WI to MI, sometime after 1858. He and his brothers worked in the lumber mills in northern MI. Hans joined Capt John Hackett's Comp, 29th Reg. of MI Volunteer Infantry, on Aug 22, 1864, from Houghton, MI. He entered service under the name of John Sonnaband, and kept that name the rest of his life. His brothers may have married and remained in MI. Thanks, CFD
