I recently found my grandmother's sister, Elizabeth Weister, living in the above institution in 1930. She was listed on one page along with a lot of women. Her five children were listed several pages away with a lot of other children. Who knows about this place? How would a woman and her children end up there? Would she likely have been paying for their keep by working there? Or was it more like a poorhouse? Can anyone help me to understand this? Thanks in advance. Sharon
