My Jones family moved from Georgia/Alabama to Panola COunty in the early to mid 1800's.I have some information but am having trouble finding the relationship between them.I get this info from family reunions at which everyone knows they're related but no one really remembers how. Can someone out there help the pieces come together for me? Any additional information would also be appreciated. My ggggrandfather was John A. Jones m. Martha unknown. Their children were:Soloman,Thomas,Joseph C.(mygggrandfather m. Mary Liles), Humil,Robert,George,Martha,Nancy,& Francis. Joseph's cousin was J. Rasmus Jones s/o James Louis and he had a brother,Louis Augustus. Does that make James Louis and John A. brothers or cousins? Are they any relation to Seaborn Jones who also lived there? Who was the father of John A. Jones & James Louis Jones? How are they related to James H. Jones f/o Thomas,Augustus,Walton,Harriet, & James?
I know that 2 of J. Rasmus daughters also married Liles. I know that Lizzie m. John Liles s/o Martin. Emma m. W.E.Liles.Who was W.A.'s father? Is the Mary Liles who married Joseph C. Jones d/o Alexander Liles or some other Liles? Off the subject, Joseph C.Jones was once a postmaster at Bland Lake in San Augustine County, before moving on to Nacogdoches.
