there are court records that show stephen, cannon (his ftr.), aron, elisha or elijah, gibion, and john ordered to work on the river as a crew under supervision. this was the early part of 1800. now cannon was born bef. 1773 and stephen bef. 1799. stephen's dau. mary polly cumbo was b.1809 and died in charleston, s.c. in 1891. she is buried with her family in the hopewell community of pembroke, n.c. i do not know why she was in charleston when she died. if you obtain any further info, pls contact me.
