If you are descended from Captain John Kathan who settled in the US coming from England in 1729 to Boston, then Worcester, MA area and then became the first settler in 1752 of Dummerston and later Putney, VT, please let us know wo you are and send to Joyce Kathan at jckccoa@aol.com or Donna Kathan Allen at billiam@vermontel.net to give us your address, phone, e-mail etc so we can keep you up to date on the plans. The reunion is expected to have at least one event at the Putney Inn (formerly the home of Captain John Kathan) as well opportunities to participate in the 250th anniversary of the town of Putney . The Putney Inn has an excellent restaurant with an acclaimed chef and has motel type accomodations next door.

There is another strain of Kathans who came from Germany and Austria, with the first Kathan coming on board ship in the 1850'. That group is probably not related to the Captain John Kathan line., unless years before in England, Scotland or Ireland.
