I have recently come into possession of , and will do look ups in , a copy of the bill presented before congress asking that the case of the General Slocum families be allowed to go to the Court of Claims for a decision on their petition for relief of the needy. this was originally begun by Rep. Sulzer, from the St. Marks congressional district, and it lagged on for almost 5 years before the government turned it down. What is great about it is that the apx. 200 families that participated in the suit are named and affidavits were filed listing what happened to those family members who were permanently injured or died. This will tell you where they were in 1910!
