He was born in Henry County VA. I know that his parents were Robert and Mary, but they died when Joseph was very young. His grandfather was Fr. Harris. I think that he was raised by his Grandfather or a Grandma Molly?

I know that he had a brother named James.

I am thinking that his grandfather was Fuller Harris and have found some names that are possibilities, including a Doctor Harris. Joseph named one of his sons middle name Doctor.
