Is there someone who can double check a date on a tombstone in Sheppard Cemetery? Records online show Carpenter Wilkinson 1850-1931 wife Martha 1851-1927. Ancestral files show death of Carpenter 28 Feb 1889. I know that Martha Jane (Newby) is married to John Lancaster and living in Union twp in the 1900 census. The last census I can find for Carpenter is 1880, nothing in 1900. Wondering if they divorced or tombstone was transcribed wrong. Any help would be appreciated. I have no obit or anything else to go by. Thank you, Barb
