I'm helping a friend trace his family and I've hit a horrible brick wall. I hope I can type this so it makes sense....

Emil Seiber Holdren was married to a woman who could not have children so they found a surrogate mother. The surrogate mother was Genevive Holton born about 1904 in Pennsylvania. I have found Genevive and her mother, Stella who was born about 1874 in Pennsylvania, in the 1920 Meadville Ward 1, Crawford, Pennsylvania census. This is the only information I can find on these 2 women. I see where Stella is listed as a widow in the census. The baby made by Emil and Genevive was Millicent Ruth Holdren born March 14, 1923 in Erie, PA.

Please, if you can help me find any information on Genevive or her mother Stella, I would greatly appreciate it. My friend would LOVE to know about his biological grandmother and her family!!
