I've been slowly working on my Father's side of the family and have been in moderate contact with my Aunt. Although she hasn't giving me a whole lot, she did tell me that my paternal grandfather, her father, was adopted by the parents I have listed for him in my family tree.

All she could remember from the story is that her father and uncle were adopted by a couple when the boys were 10 and 12. All my Aunt said about their birth parents is that the mother passed away and the boys were adopted a short time later.

What she knew was the birth mother/parents last name was Grey (Gray).

My Great-Uncle is named James Chester Kline, born 22 Mar 1932 in Ventura, California. Apparently he was married six or seven times, but I haven't found any information about any wife. James died 13 Feb 1992 in Loma Linda, San Bernardino, California. He served some time in the Military, as a cook for the navy, and is buried in the Riverside National Cemetery in CA.

My Grandfather is named Gerald Charles Kline, born 17 Feb 1934 in Ventura, California. Gerald married my Grandmother Gladys around the early 1950s, and had my Dad and Aunt in 55 and 57. They divorced around the late 60s I believe, but stayed close friends. Gerald died April 1985 in Ventura, California.

The couple that adopted them are named Edward Guy McMullen Kline, born 22 Sep 1903 in Columbia, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Died 20 Jul 1970 in Anaheim, Orange, California, and Rose Mae Dicus, born 14 Aug 1902 in Wilbarger County, Texas and died 2 May 1992 in Anaheim-Garden Grove, Orange, California

The last name Kline is the adopted parents last names, the adopted parents also changed the names on the boy's birth certs so I don't think that will lead anywhere. Also I am assuming that since both men were born in Ventura CA, that the Mother/parents passed away in the same area or close to.

I'm hoping by posting here I can find someone who knew about these two men and can help me fill in the missing pieces, or atleast point me in the right direction on where I can find the missing info on these men's birth parents.
