I have been researching my carpatho-rusyn roots and I am having some confusion pinpointing my great-granparents' hometowns.
On my grandfather's birth certificate my greatgrandfather birthplace is Sanok, Galicia(1913). But on his draft registration it is Bereske, Lisko, Austria(1917).
On my greatgrandmother's immigration records her last place of residence is listed as Olchorvel, Austria(1909). Before I found this though I found her brother's draft registration and it lists his birthplace as Sanok, Austria(1917).
I have done some research and I know the locations of Lisko and Sanok. I cannot find Olchorvel anywhere, and am confused by Bereske. I noticed on a website for present day Sanok the following statement: "When a part of Galicia - Sanok was in the Administrative District of Sanok" My best guess is that when Sanok is listed on these documents it is as the province or district. Any ideas?
