Hoping 1900 or 1910 Census will have record of my great-grandparents John F. Knight, wife Mary Elizabeth (Pierce) Knight, and their children Pearl May, Rufus Thomas, Ruthie (?), John? ... all children likely born after 1890.
I think John F. and Mary Elizabeth were married in Caglesville, Pope Co. in 1888 and may have lived in Hattieville, Conway Co. for a time. It appears they had both died by 1910, possibly before 1905.
My grandfather, Rufus Thomas Knight b.1895, married Lillie Moore in Van Buren Co. in 1915; they are listed on 1920 Census in Holley Twp. Their Marriage Application of 1915 says Rufus is from Choctaw, so the Knight children may have grown up in Choctaw.
Households in which they might have been raised include Knight, Shannon, Pierce, Perry (among others), and could have been in most any VBC Twp, and possibly in Higden in nearby Cleburne Co., as well, as Rufus inherited a part ownership of a farm in Higden ... from whom, I don't know.
I know there are "Arkansas-Ancestors Angels" like Genia in Van Buren Co. and James in Pope Co. and Dewayne in Searcy Co. who go waaaaaaay out of their way to give a helping hand to the rest of us. I wish I had smething to contribute instead of just taking. Maybe someday I will.
I'm grateful for anything at all that anyone might know about
the history of John F., Mary Elizabeth and their children.
