James & Sarah are found in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 censuses of Cape Girardeau Co., MO. Based on the censuses, James Ellison HALL & Sarah Elizabeth McBEE had these children:

2. Mary M. HALL, b. 1854/5
3. Dorcas E. HALL, b. 1856/7
4. William HALL, b. 1860/1
5. Edwin Newton HALL, b. 1863/4

Living with James & Sarah in 1860 is Anderson McBEE (æ 21, b. TN), whom one might have guessed is Sarah's brother, except that Anderson appears to be the son of William Pryor McBEE & Nancy DYER, and their daughter Sarah was born in 1848.

In the 1870 census, Anderson McBEE (æ 29, b. TN) is still unmarried and living in Cape Girardeau Co., MO, but this time he's living with Joel R. HILL, uncle of James Ellison HALL. Joel R. HILL married 3 Oct 1852 in Cape Girardeau Co., MO, to Elmira/Elmyra E. McBEE, daughter of William Pryor McBEE & Nancy DYER and, thus, brother of Anderson.

So, where does Sarah Elizabeth McBEE fit in?!
