I hoping someone might be able to help me. My fiancee's dad William Hugh Paxton age 13 and his two sisters Sarah age 8 and Rachel age 11 were put into The Baptist Children's Homes' "Mills Home" in Thomasville, NC in 1940. Can anyone explain maybe why they might have been placed there when there dad was still alive and living with one of the older kids and her husband.

I was also wondering is there a time limit before the orphanage will release records if i write to them. and would it matter that all three kids are now deceased
