I'm still trying to find information on my family connection with the Hill/Snider Family. My GGGrandmother is Lillie Jane Hill, born May 9,1861 in Green Co, Iowa. Her father is William H. Hill. Her mother, per her death certificate, is Peggy Perkins, but I am having a hard time trying to locate and prove her identity for certain. Also, William and Peggy were suppose to be from Ohio. She had an older sister Jemima A. and a younger brother, William H. She was first married to Simon P. Snider on May 19, 1875 in Mankato, KS. They had one daughter, Anna Linn, born April 28, 1952 in Mankato, KS. Written on the back of a picture by Anna, was "Granpa John Snider in the Early War." According to the stories, John was suppose to be full-blooded Amer. Indian. When William passed away, he made Mary A. Snyder - wife of George Snider - the guardian of his three children.

Simon Snider (or Snyder) was born approx 1848. According to the picture written-on by his daughter, his father (grandfather?) was John Snider. I have no other information on the Snider side.
