Hi!

I'm trying to find information on my father's side of the family. We know them to be from the Germany/Austria area and immigrated to the US between 1913 and 1920. But I'm having a heck of a time finding anything on them before they came here. Can anyone give me some pointers? It seems strange that Germany/Austria has such sporadic records of it's citizens.
