Seeking to share information with others interested in these families. I have traced Gavin Morton from the 1870 Federal Census through to the 1900 Federal Census. In 1870 he was enumerated with wife Sarah and an eight-month-old son named John. The family was living in Woodville, Waseca County. Sarah and at least two children appear to have died by 1880. Gavin is living in an area denoted in the 1880 Federal Census as Towns 120 and 121, Big Stone County, with his children John A., Jennie M., and George L. Sometime between 1880 and 1885 Gavin married Frances Colby, and the family continues to live in various towns in Big Stone County until 1900. I believe that both Gavin and Frances died between 1900 and 1905. I am looking for marriage, birth and death records for this family; my particular interest is in any information that will help me connect Gavin to his New York family.
