My great grandfather was Joseph James Desmarais. He married Rebecca Jacobs on March 5, 1886. Rebecca later remarried after Joseph died. She was buried in Michigan between 1940-1949. Joseph James Desmarais and Rebecca Jacobs were both from Ontario. They both had First Nation blood. I would like to know what tribe they belonged to. If you have any info please let me know.
