Hooray for Adriana Trigiani. I wish I could be there to have her book signed. I have admired her books in the past but when I saw the setting of her newest was Roseto, I had to run out to find and read it. It took me back to 1940 when I was very young and visited my Russo family there. I was so moved by the book that I posted on this site and was lucky to have MaryAnne Catino respond so that I could find my relatives again.
Since then I've done lots of research to try to find other relatives via the internet. On his ship's manifest in 1902, my grandfather Donato Russo listed his town as S.Angelo di Bsig. We know it was from around Roseto V. but can't find this town anywhere on current maps. Anyone have any leads or ideas of where to find info about it?
He went back just before WWI to sell property there, was drafted and died in the war. My grandmother was left with 4 young children in NY. We never found out where he actually went or the actual town. Any help would be appreciated.
