Nancy A. Parish filed for Widow's Pension 1st Oct 1914 in Nacogdoches Co. TX for Indigent Widows. Nancy A. Parish states she is the widow of William Parish who died May 1892 in Indian Territory. Nancy A. Parish states she married William Parish on 30th December, 1850 in Van Zandt Co. TX. Nancy Parish states she was 84 years of age last December [1913] and she was born in Alabama. She has lived in Texas 68 years. Statement of J. F. Jones and sworn before County Judge, George F. Ingraham; Nacogdoches County: served in Company A, 17th Texas Cavalry in 1862 for about 6 months.
Mortuary Warrant for Nancy A. Parish shows she died on 3rd January, 1919 Lufkin, Angelina Co. TX and was buried on 4th of January, 1919 in Moffett Cemetery, City of Angelina, County of Lufkin, TX. Warrant was applied for by W. N. [William Nute] Parish, son. A $30.00 allotment was paid by the Office of Commissioner of Pensions State of Texas toward the purchase of Nancy A. Parish's coffin which cost $44.50.
