I am having trouble getting a true 'death certificate' (the form format with boxes filled in), from the Oakland Cnty Clerk's office. They transcribed (typed) the information from a book and it does not have all the information on it (burial, funeral director, etc.). They say it is considered a legal copy of the death record...recognized by the State of Michigan. The State of Michigan Archives said the county should have them. I paid $15 for the transcription. Do you think if I pay $26 to the State Health Department I will receive the same thing? In almost all their documentation they state record and not certificate. Do you have any recommendations?
