This is driving me crazy. I can find my relatives in 1900 ad 1920. I then discovered that in 1910 my gt. grandmother was in a hospital (after childbirth). I can find my gt. grandfather as a boarder, but no sight of the 3 children they have until 1920.

What happened to the children of women who were put in hospitals? Perhaps she had depression after childbirth? Would the children be put in foster care? How would they have been recorded in the censu?
