I am sure all three families were in Alpena,MI area from approx. 1889 through 1906.

Annie Maria Portwood and Robert A Reid were married 14 Feb 1892 in Alpena, MI. per the entry in the family Bible. Annie was the eldest child in the Portwood family and was born in England. Both Annie and Robert died 19 Dec 1948 in Los Angeles, CA.

Edith Mary Portwood and Samuel Kibler Kissack were married 23 Dec 1896 in Alpena, MI. I have a copy of their marriage certificate and it is in agreement with the entry in the family Bible. Edith was the second child in the Portwood family and was born in England. Samuel Kissack died 1 Dec 1935 in Ashtabula,OH. He worked on the Great Lakes from the age of 16. When he died, he was Chief Engineer for a Great Lakes ore carrier. Edith died 2 Nov 1974 in Springfield,OH. At the time she was living at the Ohio Masonic Home. From this fact, I believe she was a member of the Eastern Star somewhere in Ohio and that her husband was in the Masonic Lodge.

Harold Portwood was born 28 May 1889 in Alpena, MI per the entry in the family Bible. He was the youngest child of Alfred John Portwood and Catherine Maria Martin. This fact places the family in Alpena, MI in late May 1889.

Any information on these families would be wonderful. I do know that Samuel Kibler Kissack was adopted. I have been trying to locate information on his birth parents. On one of the document copies he wrote for his employer, he stated he was born in Bristol, England. This may or may not be true.
