I have recently discovered that 2 distant ancestors (William and Joseph Yardley) died in the 1858 Bardsley mine disaster. According to an online source, a memorial was erected in Bardsley Methodist Church. Does anyone know if this memorial still exists? Not living in England I cannot visit for myself but I've emailed the church but have not yet received a reply.
Perhaps a local person would know some details?
