I am search for information on my g-grandfather Friedrich (Fred) A.L. Hupe's (1869-1946) family. He was born in Fishbeck, Hamburg and married Augusta Lehne (b. 1874, Jork, Germany). Their son, George F. Hupe, was born 1897 in Heppens, Oldenburg. The Hupe family were living in New York City by 1903. Fred was a musician, who studied in Germany, possibly at Leipzig Conservatory. He played the cornet and trumpet and served as a Bandmaster in the US Navy from 1903 to 1924. The family lived many years in Evanston, Il. I would look forward to any assistance in learning more about the Friedrich Hupe family and their Hamburg/North German origins.
