Awhile back, my McLeod family research on Ancestry.ca somehow connected me to McLeods in Glengarry.
I actually live in Green Valley, Ont, but originally from Toronto.
My McLeod's are on my mother's side. My great great grandfather came from Caithness Scotland to work for the Hudson's Bay Company in Moose Factory, Ontario.
Somewhere in his line, a McLeod married another MacLeod from Thurso Scotland.
I don't have the exact details at hand, but by connecting links on my tree, it brought me somehow to a line of people that settled in Glengarry, Ontario.
When I was checking this line, I found a son that was born before his father, and ended up deleting the information, and hence, lost the remaining connections to Glengarry.
I am hoping that someone here, just might have a connection to my line.
My great great grandfather was Alexander Joseph McLeod, b. 19 Jul 1825 Caithness, Scotland son of George McLeod b. 1799 Halkirk, Caithness Scotland and Isabella MacLeod b. 19 Feb 1800 Thurso, Scotland. I have much more info, but I am really hoping that somewhere in this line, someone is related from this area.
