I've come up against a brickwall in my family research.
My g-g-grandfather (Richard Gilbert, wife being Elizabeth Jane Andrew) was born in Illogan, Cornwall circa 1853.

Although I can't find any civil registration of marriage for these two, I have found a Richard 'Jelbard' marriage in 1874 in Redruth which gives his father's name as a George Gilbert - or rather 'Jelbard'!

This George Gilbert would have married an Elizabeth Ann and had several children (showing on the 1861 to 1881 UK census returns) including a James, Gilbert, Elizabeth Jane Gilbert, John Gilbert, George Henry Gilbert, Ellen Gilbert and finally Emily Gilbert.

George Gilbert (junior) is on the 1891 census but the rest of that family (barring my Richard Gilbert) have disappeared - they must have all emmigrated.......

Has anybody out there come across any of these names in their work? All were born in Illogan, Cornwall.
